Do Religion and Conservation Go Hand in Hand?
Thinking Skill: Synthesis
Project 4 is all about how religion can play a role in how we treat the planet and the creatures that live on it. I started off with Judaism's view on how to treat animals/ environment since I am most familiar with that concept. That lead to wondering if all religions have specific teachings on how to treat the planet. I spent time emailing different religious leaders asking them the same questions: Does your religion have a stance on environmental issues, such as pollution and poaching? If so, where does your religion stand on the issues?
Does your personal view correlate with your religion’s view on the issue? I got responses back and used those answers to incorporate into my short paragraphs on how each religion approaches conservation .

For art, I took all the research of different religions and created a campaign meant to draw people into caring more about their environment using something that is important to them. At first, I created a poster that was a mix between a 1960's protest poster and a modern day campaign sign that put the religions together. I then took the separate ideas that were represented within that poster and made online versions that I am posting on an Instagram to reach a wider audience. These posters are targeted towards specific religions and some are meant to speak to everyone.
